For this Christmas at Foleys we have put together a step by step guide to making a succulent wreath. You can hang this on the front door or use it to decorate your table as a centrepiece.

Required ingredients
x1 packet of spagnum moss
x1 wire or timber wreath
x1 spool of floristry wire
Floristry U pins
Pencil or chopstick
As many cuttings of succulents as you can

STEP ONE:
Soak spagnum moss in water
Once soaked through, squeeze the water out leaving the moss slightly damp, but not dripping
STEP TWO
Place moss around the wreath, ensuring it thickly covers all sides except the base
Using the floristry wire wrap your way around the wreath to secure the moss
Ensure the moss is 1-2cm thick, the more moss the more water it can hold and the better the roots will grow.
STEP THREE:
Once the moss is secured to the wreath you can start inserting the succulent cuttings
Start by selecting a few cuttings
Using the pencil or chopstick poke a hole in the moss and insert the cutting, if it feels a bit loose or won't quite sit in place use a U pin to secure. Once the roots start to grow these will help to secure the cuttings

STEP FOUR
Continue to insert the cuttings, finding any blank space of moss and filling it. You may need more succulent cuttings than you think.

STEP FIVE:
Once you've finished with the cuttings, please wreath on a saucer and attached a piece of wire for hanging
STEP SIX:
Store lying flat in a partially sunny spot and mist regularly to keep moss moist to allow roots to grow
