This ginger grows in upright clumps from fleshy rhizomes. The leaves vary considerably in the amount of variegation, with some mostly green streaked with creamy yellow or gold, whereas others are primarily yellow with some green stripes.
This variegated ginger can be grown in large containers on balconies or in the garden for large striking foliage. It is a great plant for tropical gardens or simply adding a bright splash of colour to a shaded part of the garden.
Plant in free draining soil in a full sun to part shade location. Prefers a position protected from harsh afternoon sun. 2-3 m H x 2 m W.
